1,5 kVA and 3 kVA uninterruptible power supply units for smaller systems such as level crossings, remote locations, RTB systems, etc.

The UPS has been designed to operate under the following conditions:

  • 1. Environment: ventilated and protected from external agents.
  • 2. Installation Type: indoor locations.
  • 3. Air temperature: average reference temperature 30 ° C with variations ranging from 0 ° C to + 45 ° C
  • 4. Relative humidity: ≤ 90%
  • 5. Altitude: Less than 1000 m. above sea level

The unit has been designed in a modular structure with pull out modules with the following dimensions: 700(l) mm, x 700 (d) mm x 1600 (h) mm.

Modules perform

Rectifier

  • 1. three-phase transformer:

    H class, natural air;

    Electrostatic screen between primary and secondary;

    Impregnation with epoxy resin;

    Isolation 3 kV 50 Hz / 1 min, between primary and secondary screen, between windings and core;

  • 2. input conversion bridge: thyristor twelve phase total controlled fully controlled twelve phase thyristor cooling of devices with forced ventilation;
  • 3. overload protection of thyristors: for maximum temperature (T2), with deactivation of the rectifier;
  • 4. electronic card control logic, cards are contained in a card file, to perform the following functions:

    control of thyristor start up sequence for the twelve-phase bridge;

    control and setting of the voltage and direct current parameter supplied by the converter;

    control and setting of the battery charging parameters;

  • 5. distortion of input current at full load: ≤ 10%;
  • 6. voltage tolerance: + 1%;
  • 7. Maximum output current: 30 A (1.5 kVA) or 52 A (3 kVA);
  • 8. maximum current tolerance: + 5%;
  • 9. battery charging cycle:

    Automatic Boost / Float, with automatic selection between the two regimes based on the extent (adjustable) of absorption in the battery current during the first seconds of recharging;

    float charging voltage: adjustable between 2.2 and 2.30 (pre-set at 2.23) V / el, with the possibility of selecting automatic temperature compensation, as required by the battery manufacturer;

    boost charging voltage: set between 2.23 and 2.35 (pre set at 2.3) V / el;

  • 10. residual wave on battery voltage: <1%
  • 11. charging current: adjustable from 0.1 to 0.15 C10 C10;

Inverter

  • 1. transient commutation bridge (IGBT): cooling of devices with forced ventilation;
  • 2. mono-phase transformer:

    Class H (regulation CEI 15-26), in natural air;

    impregnation with epoxy resin;

    Isolation 3 kV 50 Hz / 1 min, between primary and secondary and between windings and the nucleus;

  • 3. electronic card control logic, contained in a card-file, to perform the following functions:

    Monitoring of regularity of DC power to the inverter commutation bridge;

    formation PWM command impulses of the mono-phase bridge with IGBT power;

    control of mono-phase sinusoidal synthesis and its correction of the form factor;

    control and setting of static and dynamic parameters of the voltage and output provided;

    protection against transient overloads;

  • 4. mono-phase output voltage: 230V (or 150V);
  • 5. static stability of the output voltage: +1%;
  • 6. nominal frequency: 50Hz;
  • 7. synchronisation frequency range limit: 49-51Hz Sync;
  • 8. limit and tolerance of the non-synchronised frequency inverter: 50Hz +0.05%;
  • 9. synchronisation speed no higher than: 0.1 Hz / sec;
  • 10. output voltage distortion with linear load: <3%;
  • 11. output voltage distortion with non-linear load: <8% (defined according to CEI EN 62040-3);
  • 12. dynamic stability of the output voltage: Class 1 - CEI EN 62040-3;
  • 13. overload: 125% for 1 min;

  • AC Emergency back-up section - Electrical characteristics

    • 1. three-phase transformer:

    Batteries (external in cabinet or on shelf)

    • Accumulator batteries with 72 lead elements, valve regulated with AGM technology (Absorbed Glass Materials), with life expectancy of 10 or more years (according to CEI EN 60896-21 and 60896-22).
    • Charging procedure with continuous trickle charge (2.27 V / el@ 20° C), with maximum initial charging current to be set between 0.10 and 0.15 C10
    • Maximum operating temperature range -5 ° C environment + 40° C;
    • The battery is protected against excessive discharge (more than 1.75 V /el) disconnecting utilities (power off inverter, etc.).
